Every worker who works with, or in proximity to, a hazardous product in the workplace must have Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training.  This course is designed as a refresher for those who have already had WHMIS training.

Note: Employers must also provide workplace-specific training and instruction for each of the hazardous products in the workplace.

Course Content:

Topics include:

  • The role WHMIS plays in protecting the health and safety of Canadian workers
  • WHMIS responsibilities of suppliers, employers, and workers
  • Classification of hazardous materials under WHMIS 2015
  • Workplace requirements for supplier labels and workplace labels
  • Locating specific types of information in the Safety Data Sheet
  • WHMIS exemptions for suppliers and importers
  • General safe work practices

Who Should Attend:

Every worker who works with, or in proximity to, a hazardous product in the workplace, and has had previous WHMIS training.
