CONFINED SPACES ENTRY

The Confined Spaces Entry course is designed to teach construction workers how to safely enter a confined space where they will be working at a construction site.

Course Description:

This Confined Spaces Entry course offers theory as well as the practical knowledge required for entering a confined space, or attending to the entry of a confined space. Students will participate in hands-on equipment and setup exercises, and address safe practices and procedures as specified by the Occupational Health and Safety Act. (O. Reg. 632/05)

Course Content:

This course consists of a combination of classroom and outdoor hands-on activities.

  • Responsibilities of employers, supervisors, workers and contractors
  • Recognizing a confined space
  • Hazard recognition in confined spaces
  • Confined space permit systems
  • Preparing for confined space entry and work
  • Atmospheric testing
  • Means of entry and exit
  • Emergency planning and rescue

Who Should Attend:

People who enter or supervise the entry of confined spaces.
