Course Description:

This course covers the health and safety of employees in the federal jurisdiction. It will give you the basic understanding and requirements of how the code is applied. This course can be a starting point for those who are on health & safety committees and need training.

This course consists of a classroom component only.

  • Rights and duties of employers (managers and supervisors)
  • Due diligence
  • Rights and duties of employees
  • Responsibilities of policy and workplace health and safety committees and representatives
  • Workplace inspections
  • Resolving complaints and work refusals
  • Accident/Incident investigation
  • Enforcement and consequences of non-compliance
  • Criminal liability
